The Cameroon Renaissance Movement, CRM party has brandished as fake news an alliance between them and the UFDC party, to contest in upcoming legislative and municipal elections.

In a press release signed on Saturday, January 25 by the CRM’s Secretary General, Chief Barrister Christopher Ndong, he intimated that his party was not into any alliance with the UFDC party to contest the local elections in Douala 4 Subdivision come February 9.

“The CRM has observed with lots of consternation that Mr. Mongang Sylvain, UFDC candidate of Dr. Hameni Bieuleu has prided himself to print campaign posters wherein he stated that the CRM is his ally,” the communique read in part.

“I hereby precise that the CRM says no to this impostor, Mr. Mongang Sylvain,” Barrister Ndong stressed.

“The CRM and its alllies are calling for a total boycott of this electoral mascarade which the CPDM and it’s enablers are preparing for February 9, 2020.”

It is uncertain why the massive boycott is being called for on a day set aside by Cameroon’s elections governing body, ELECAM for parties to launch elections across the country.

The CRM had earlier announced they will not take part in any elections if the electoral code stays unrevised, and the deadly Anglophone crisis which has claimed about 3000 lives according to International Crisis Group remains unsolved.
