A woman has made a confession that her 12-year-old son is the product of a long-standing human-chimpanzee relationship.

The woman named by the Angolan media as Anita Dembo made the revelation recently while on her dying bed.

According to local media reports, Anita Dembo said that her affair with the Chimpanzee began in 1998 when she was recruited to work as a conservation officer at the parc National de Cameia in Angola.

It remains unclear if the human-animal relationship was the only condition under which she could be offered the job but the woman said she had been dating the father of her son for 21 years.

After her death, medical experts have disputed the possibility that the animal authored the child.

Officials of the said park have expressed regret over the sudden demise of their employee, but denied any claims of a sexual relationship between humans and animals.

“Any sexual interaction between employees or visitors of the park with animals is not encouraged under current park guidelines,” a statement from the park’s spokesman read.

“Sexual relationships between humans and chimpanzees are fairly common in the region but this is the first time a pregnancy is officially reported,” said Dr. Antonio Mendes of the Hospital Municipal do Luena.
