Cameroon’s Minister of Territorial Administration, Paul Atanga Nji has visited Buea to assess the level of security in the South West region.

The Minister’s convoy arrived in the regional capital on Friday, November 1, 2019.

The Territorial Administration boss was received by top security and administrative officials who had a meeting to discuss the state of affairs in the region.

It is the first time Paul Atanga Nji is making an official trip to the crisis ravaged South West since the holding of a National Dialogue convened by octogenarian President, Paul Biya, aimed at resolving the Anglophone armed conflict.

Friday’s security meeting in Buea came on the heels of the demise of Mayor Ekema Patrick Esunge, a man whom some militants of the ruling CPDM party have described as daring and patriotic.

The late Mayor has been hailed especially for his campaign in battling Ambazonian fighters to defend the regime’s philosophy of a “one and indivisible Cameroon.”

Meantime, the Minister’s security mission to Buea came barely two days after his stopover in the West region where he extended sympathy to victims of a landslide that claimed at least 43 deaths in Bafoussam recently.
