The Senior Divisional Officer of Fako, Engamba Emmanuel Ledoux, has convened an emergency meeting with top officials of the Buea Council, to take place on Tuesday, October 29.
This follows the sudden demise of the Mayor of the Buea Council, Ekema Patrick Esunge who died on Sunday, October 27 in Douala, after reportedly suffering from a heart attack.
The meeting’s agenda is unknown to the public, but many suspect it is to discuss issues related to the late mayor’s replacement.
Ekema Patrick took office in 2013 and his mandate is due to end next year. It is likely that an acting mayor will take over the post, to complete Ekema’s mandate before the next municipal elections due for 2020.
His family members, relatives, inhabitants of the Buea municipality and the nation at large are still in shock after the mayor’s sudden demise.
