About 5 military officers have been reportedly killed in Bamenda by suspected pro-independence fighters.

This happened on Saturday October 19, 2019. Reports say the hideout of some alleged pro-independence fighters was discovered somewhere around Metah Quarters.

It equally came to the notice of Cameroon’s defence forces that an edifice which served as a barrack for the “Amba boys,” also contained some kidnapped school children.
In an attempt to dislodge these fighters, the military then stormed the building.

The gun battle was fierce and ferocious, resulting in the death of about 5 soldiers. Sources say none of the warring parties could be spotted at the scene of the action, as at the time of this report.
