Pre-season Friendly: Stubborn PWD Give YOSA Hard Times

By Ngain Steve Jordan, In Yaounde

Bamenda based Elite one sides Young Sports Academy of Bamenda and PWD Social Club of Bamenda have settled for a 1-1 draw in a pre-season encounter on Saturday, October12.

In a fixture hosted at the Big Mankon Stadium in the North West region, the first minutes were far from encouraging until at the 23rd minute of play when PWD’s newly recruited goal poacher, Leon Boyomo had a shot on target — but goalkeeper Fuh Blaise could not be beaten.

At the 25th minute of play, Louiz Enjoinei’s quick action resulted in a beautiful assist provided to Leon Boyomo who made no mistake and gave PWD the lead which they protected throughout the first half of the game.

The second half of the encounter saw some substitutions from both sides. As the game went on, the first half team talks proved to be more effective on the YOSA side as they multiplied attempts on target and at the 60th minute of play, new signing, Fonkwa Armel equalised for YOSA.

The Final whistle signalled the end of the match with a 1-1 score.

In this friendly, YOSA saw the return of Roland Thierry Ngalle and Petit Fils Djamen. Former Unisport of Bafang attacking midfielder Tengemo Emmanuel also made his debut for YOSA alongside Mundi Kagawa who played last season for PWD.

While PWD of Bamenda saw the return of former captain Ngi Divine.
