Gun Men Attack Police Post On Ethiopia’s New Year Celebrations

At least nine people have been injured in Ethiopia, following an attack during celebrations marking the country’s new year.

A police camp was hit in Oromia state on Thursday at 7:30 local time (4:30 GMT) by a suspected grenade attack.

At the moment, the area police commander has confirmed that no arrests have been made, counteracting earlier reports that 22 people were in custody.

Investigations have doubled to fish out the group responsible for Burayu police post attack at Oromia state, since no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Ethiopia has just entered 2012, according to the country’s calendar, and was celebrating the new year before gun men attacked the police post, leaving nine people seriously injured.
