The under 23 Indomitable Lions have won their first leg qualification match against the Tunisian selection in Yaounde, with a slender 1-0 lead.
The match was played on September 6, and it counts for the last round of qualification before the U23 Africa Cup of Nations which will be held in Egypt.
To give himself the maximum of luck and success, Rigobert Song, the coach, has associated some local talent, despite the suspension of the championships.
It was one of these internationals who scored the only goal of the game. Victor Mpindi scored at the 20th minute of the game, marking big failures on the side of the Tunisians. This slender score may be difficult to hold when the Cameroonian side travel to Rades in Tunisia for the return leg .
The U23 Lions coach believes that they have to stay positive. ” Today I’m on the other side, yesterday I was on the ground. So I know their situation. It’s not everyday that you give the best. I do not panic because there, they will open and it will give us possibilities. Today, they wet the shirt, I congratulate them.”
