Christians of the Kumbo Cathedral Parish, Bui Division in the Northwest region, have intensified calls for the release of two reverend fathers who were recently kidnapped.
The christians gathered on Monday August 19, to pray for their kidnapped priests to be safely set free.
The two priests whose names TWIF News got as Fathers Patrick Atanga and Franklin Banadzem Dindzee, Diocesan Youth Chaplains of Kumbo were abducted by armed men believed to be Ambazonia fighters on Thursday August 15, on their way to Oku to celebrate the Feast of Assumption.
Until now, no demands have been made by their kidnappers and the whereabouts of the men of God are still unknown. It also remains unclear why they were abducted.
Since the beginning of the Anglophone crisis in the two minority English speaking regions of Cameroon, the Catholic Church has not been spared. Its priests have been subject to constant kidnaps by separatist fighters.
