Fans of Coupé Décalé world over have joined Musicians in Ivory Coast to mourn the death of one of the country’s finest artists.
Ange Didier Houon popularly known as DJ Arafat reportedly died in a hospital in Abidjan Monday August 12 following a motor accident.
Media reports say he sustained life threatening injuries in a motor accident Sunday night, before dying several hours later.
Born in January 1986, Arafat is known for his great contributions to Coupé Décalé, a popular genre of music in the French West African Country.
In 2015, he emerged as the best Francophone Artist at the MAMAs Award and was one of the nominees for the Best African Act at the MTV EMA the same year.
