The President of the Cameroon Football Federation, Prince Seidou Mbombo Njoya has on his Twitter account clearly reassured Cameroon’s position on hosting the 2021 AFCON.
In a recent tweet on his official account,the football house’s boss said;
“Cameroon will organize the 2021 AFCON, there’s no doubt about it. It had been confirmed and the words of the Algerian Minister have been misunderstood. We are calm about it.”
The Secretary General of Algeria’s Football Federation Mohamed Saâd has also made a similar comment.
“The comments of our minister of Sports have been totally misinterpreted” SG Mohamed Saâd said in an official outing on Twitter.
It remains unclear whether Prince Mbombo Njoya’s comments will end media speculations on Cameroon’s capacity to host the 2021 showpiece.
Cameroonians of all walks of life considered it a huge set back when the 2019 tournament was moved from Cameroon to Egypt in November 2019.
Cameroon’s right to host the last AFCON was moved by the CAF Executive Committee from 2019 to 2021.
Cameroon recently hosted a near perfect 2016 Women’s AFCON in Yaounde and Limbe and has since then, been improving on infrastructures necessary for any host country of the AFCON.
